This product was successful and easily installed. I went into buying this product with little confidence and it turned out to be a great product. They put out a nice sound for the money and mounted with ease. I am extremely satisfied and would without doubt give this product an outstanding review and recommendation if you would be in the market for outdoor speakers.
Great sound, rich bass and well balanced tone. This will cause the threading assembly (which is basically a metal cylinder glued into the plastic) to dislodge and fall into the speaker. Cross-over distortion is barely audible. Don't expect to pump a full 100W into these for long though, these speakers saturate at about 30/40 W RMS, still plenty of power for $30 a pair. One word of caution: be very careful not to push too hard on the brass thread fitting with the screw nut when mounting the speaker on its bracket. Since the speaker cannot be disassembled, you will end up with merely a bookshelf speaker with no way to attach it except for glue or screws right into the plastic casing.Dual should have addressed this vulnerability of the mounting points and I see this as a glaring design flaw in an otherwise very good product. I would give these speakers 5 stars if it weren't for this cheap approach to mounting points.
I bought four of these to replace Dual speakers on a boat. The grills started rusting within 2 weeks and are now half covered with rust (very unsightly), the mounting brackets were so flimsy they droop from the weight of the speakers and will not hold the speakers in the position you want them to point. No one was sure how old the previous speakers were they had lasted so long. These new speakers were completely different. These speakers will have to be trashed. Whatever the previous history of Dual, these are just cheap Chinese POS.
For the price, cant really complain.got these about 6 months ago and installed them in my backyard, worked great for the gatherings i had from spring-fall. thought i could leave them up year round but recently i noticed that the grill screens were beginning to rust. Should be expected since i live in a shore town with salt air. The screens are almost impossible to take off the speaker, making repainting difficult
I was very unimpressed with these speakers. I was simply looking for a decent pair of speakers to put on my patio with an old low power tuner. With the loudness setting off and the Bass BELOW the center mark, the speakers rattle as if I were playing them for a party.I would not reccomend the purchase of these speakers to anyone who actually enjoys even decent quality sound.
